Keywords are the words you type when searching in Google. People search all day long in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. They do billions of searches!

If you’re going to write an entry for your blog, or create a new page for your website, you should check to see if there are any commonly searched for words that are related. For example, let’s say that you have a blog or a site about cell phones. You want to make a page about new phones. If you look at how often keywords about new phones are searched for, you’ll see that the keyword phrase ‘new cell phones’ is searched for a ton.

This means that in the title of your new page or blog entry, you should say new cell phones! It would be a lot better than ‘phones that are being released soon’ because new cell phones is searched for so much more.

You don’t want to repeat the keyword phrase very many times, but you should use it a few times througout the text of the page. You should to write with words that people will search for!

A good service that you can use to find out what words people search for can be found at www.wordtracker.com. They have a free trial that you can use as many times as you want. If you type a word in, wordtracker will generate some related keyword phrases, and will show you how often they’re searched for. You want to choose the ones that are searched for a lot and integrate them into your text.

No matter what your blog is about, there is a good chance that people are searching for you! You just have to find out what words they’re using when they search.
