Search engine positioning, optimization, and increased website traffic are critical elements of a successful Internet business solution. High visibility of your website can make the difference between driving a high volume of sales leads and targeted traffic to your company’s website or being lost in "cyber space."

With the burgeoning popularity of the internet, new developmental tools are created daily. With these tools come new challenges, marketing, design, cross-browser transitions, etc. All of these can be a daunting task for those web gurus who aren't well-versed in the W3 Standards.

AgentSully! It's always nice to have you on the site, and thanks for another great question! Yes, it absolutely makes a difference to have to post title first. This will make a really big difference for the SEO of your site. I was able to switch mine by using the Seo Title Tag Plugin:
http://www.netconcepts.com/seo-title-tag-plugin/

I would definitely install it!

My numbers have increased quite a bit since I wrote this post thankfully, thanks for noticing! I have been working quite a bit on links lately and hopefully I can keep the momentum!

It's always a pleasure!

I read (on problogger.net I think) that to get better indexing of your site with yahoo, that you should add your site's feed to "my yahoo." Seemed to work for me.

Court, I have a question for you. Currently all my pages are titled: "Blog Title-Blog Description - Post Title." (this is how my theme came as default...I'm just getting around to really noticing it now)

I notice that yours is titled with the Post Title first. It seems that this would be better.

Should I change this around for better SEO so that the Post Title comes first?

Thanks! Dugg this by the way. Thx for all your great posts! (Your numbers have increased significantly since you posted this...how did that happen? Random or did you do something?)

Hi Court,

Your observations are consistent with mine.

Google can take an awfully long time to recognize your backlink, but Yahoo, it is very much faster.

Anyway, very informative blog. I'm impressed. Good job mate!

Cheers,
Jag

Cade,
Thanks for 2 good questions!

Q.You asked why Google will show a large number and actually list less.
A. Google will filter out results that are similar to each other. Usually they will still count both in the numbers, but will only show 1 of them.

Q. How come when you type in link:site.com then it brings up a smaller amount then link: site.com. There are a lot more results when you have the space then when you don’t. Why?
A. If you add a space, Google doesn't search for the pages that are linking to the domain, they instead search for pages that have both the word link and the domain in the text.
