Technorati Top 100,000 And What It Means For CourtneyTuttle.com
April 24th, 2007 by CourtToday was a small milestone for the site. For the first time I am ranked by Technorati as one of the top 100,000 blogs in the world. This of course has raised the projected value of the site quite a bit, which is now worth over $25,000, according to the popular tool brought to us by Business-Opportunities.biz. I added the tool to my sidebar on the right if you want to have a look.
What This Means For CourtneyTuttle.com
The top 100,000 isn’t exactly an exclusive club.
In reality, at the time of this post’s creation I’m ranked 98,965, which means that there are 98,964 blogs that are ranked more highly than mine. That’s a pretty big number still! What it really means is that I still need to get a lot better.
I double checked today to see exactly when I created this site, the date was February 12, 2007, about 70 days ago. Technorati says that there about 71 million known blogs out there, which means that in this very small amount of time I have been able to pass about 70,901,036 blogs by. I can’t help but find satisfaction in that.
Since I broke the Top 100,000 today, I started thinking about some goals I would like to have for the site. Here are a few goals that I’ve set for the site:
- By June 1, 2007, I want CourtneyTuttle.com to be ranked in the top 5,000 blogs in Technorati. In order to do this, I will have to have over 1,000 links from other bloggers. It’s going to take some really good articles and a lot of hard work to get there.
- By September 1, 2007, I want CourtneyTuttle.com to be ranked in the Technorati top 1,000.
- By April 24, 2008 (1 year from today) I want CourtneyTuttle.com to be ranked in the Technorati top 100.
Many of you probably think that these goals are a little ‘out there’, a little too lofty. Some of you might have similar goals yourselves. For those of you that think these are impossible, what are your goals? Do you have any? Will they push you to be great? I hope that my goals can push me to be. I plan on doing a lot of crazy hard work and providing a lot of value to get there.
Do you have specific goals for your sites? I hope so.

LOL, how accurate do you think that “blog worth” widget really is? Seems to be way high to me. It estimates my site to be worth 150K which is insane…
Have you ever tried out http://www.dnscoop.com? I don’t know if it is any more accurate, but it definitely pegs us much lower…

I see how it works. It is using the purchase price of Weblogs Inc. by AOL and breaking it into a per link price.
They are then just multiplying it by the number of links you have. An interesting method for sure…

Hi Chris! Thanks for your comments. It is definitely a really high estimate! I think it’s cool that it uses links though, which can help you see into the crystal ball a little. The dnscoop.com one is low in my opinion though, it says that mine is only worth a little under $1,000, which is what I’ll make in the next few months, even if I don’t get any better!

OK..it’s me again. I have missed out too many of your articles, man.
I believe you can achieve your goal. As for me, I haven’t had goal for Technorati yet. What about Alexa ranking ??

Court, it’s me..I am quite concerned about my alexa ranking. Please write an article on this ..;D I am looking forward to it.
As for my Technorati, it has slowed down a bit..do you think it’s because many bloggers are fighting furiously now for better ranking ??
I am at 40,000 ++.

It’s awesome that you achieved your goal in such a short amount of time. I seem to be stuck in the 13,000 area of technorati & I just can’t get out. Good luck with the next goals!
