Make Money Business Opportunities

April 25th, 2007 by Court

For those of you who have searched and searched for ‘make money business opportunuites‘, I sincerely hope that I can be of help to you. There are literally tens of thousands of such business opportunities out there, and the list is growing everyday.

It’s pretty freaking hard to know where to begin with so many opportunities out there. How do we know where to even start? To help answer this question, I have taken some time to make a short-list of questions. Hopefully they can help you to have a better understanding of what type of make money opportunity is right for you.

What Is Your Business Budget?

Obviously your decision will really be affected by your budget. In order to start a McDonald’s restaurant it would cost you at least $500,000. McDonald’s also requires that at least $200,000 of that be personal funds that aren’t borrowed. Here’s an excerpt from the McDonald’s page on the matter:

Generally, we require a minimum of $200,000 of non-borrowed personal resources to consider you for a franchise.

The average franchise opportunity in the United States cost the buyer $58,500 according to Franchise.org.

On the other hand, if you were to start a blog, your startup cost would be $0, but you would have to put in a ton of work in order to make it work, and you would have to do all of your branding on your own. You better plan on many, many hours of work it that’s the direction you choose.
If you wanted to fall somewhere in between, maybe you should look at a lawn care business, which would cost you about $1000. Anyway, you get the idea. You definitely need to decide what your budget is before you jump into anything.

How Much Time Can You Devote To Your Business?

Hopefully you can see the necessity of determining this before you decide what type of business opportunity you want to choose.

If you were to start a blog, for example, it might take you a year of working 3 hours a day before you have a full time income, or an income anywhere near that level. Maybe some of you have a natural writing talent that will make it easier, but the point is that to start that type of a business, you will need a ton of time.

On the other hand, if you were to start a lawn mowing business, you would only need to the time it would take to buy all the equipment, hire personnel, and create a marketing plan. Your laborers would be spending the time so that you didn’t have to. The time constraint might be intense up front, but really you could make all of it happen in less than a month and then it would be a lot less labor intensive.

What Is Your Level Of Business Experience?

Maybe you have started 10 businesses already, maybe this will be your first. This should definitely be considered before you jump into anything. Would you try to bench press 400 pounds at the gym if you had never worked out? Then why would you try to create the next Google if you haven’t ever managed a personal blog?

If you’re a newbie to starting a business, you may want to try something basic. If you’re an experienced veteran, you may want to take it to the next level. Either way your experience will help you to throw stronger punches in the next business bout.

Most successful business people can create strong business after strong business. Their experience with their previous businesses make them better able to create new ones. The most important thing for a beginner is going to be to get started.

What Are Your Talents?

Are you a natural writer? Maybe try blogging. Are you a natural salesman? Start a home security sales office or a real estate firm. Are you great with people? Start a retail operation. Not sure what you’re good at? Start somewhere.

Take advantage of existing talents and develop new ones. If you do your business will be a winner.
