An Update On My Technorati Ranking Goal

May 7th, 2007 by Court

On April 24th, CourtneyTuttle.com reached a small milestone; it cracked the Technorati top 100,000 blogs. It wasn’t really a huge ordeal, there were still about 100,000 blogs that were ranked more highly than mine. :)

Even though I knew that it wasn’t that big of a deal I couldn’t help but feel some satisfaction - it’s nice to see some reward for your efforts. Before Technorati there was no quick way for us to see results; we had to rely on our Google rankings which take months to update. For those of you that are new bloggers, count your blessings! It’s 100 times easier to stay motivated when you can easily see that you are improving.

Last night CourtneyTuttle.com passed another important milestone as it became one of the top 50,000 blogs:

Technorati Top 50000

It made the jump late last night - it was ranked about 48,000 and I was wondering if it would still be ranked under 50,000 today. Fortunately I picked up some additional links during the night and this morning, and now I’m ranked as number 46,737.

The goal I set just 2 weeks ago, on April 24th, was to get into the top 5,000 blogs before June 1, 2007. This means I only have 3 more weeks to do it! I’m going to be getting really social with other bloggers and submitting to quite a few blog carnivals. I’m hoping that I can still do it! I’ve moved up about 50,000 spots in the last 2 weeks, but still have to move up about 40,000 more and I know that it will be a lot more difficult! I’m just going to bust it hard and see how far I can go with it.

As a side effect, I’m sure that I’ll be able to get a little more PageRank for the next update. Watch for my upcoming article on increasing your Technorati ranking!

Congrats on your Technorati rank! To be honest I don’t remember when I even broke the 10,000 mark. I’m now below 1000, but it fluctuates- very frustrating! Just remember to keep commenting and engaging in conversations on other blogs!

Hi Courtney! I hope you get there - I’ve written a small Linky Love review for you today, to play my part in making sure that you do. And because you do a grand job. Good luck!
