Your Future As An A-List Blogger And More Powerful Person

May 18th, 2007 by Court

Can you visualize your future as a more powerful person? Can you picture in your mind the day when your site has a PageRank of 6 and a Technorati ranking of 200? Can you picture an Alexa ranking of 10,000 or even 5,000?

Can you see the successful you? The one who is talented, driven, remarkable, and inspirational? Do you believe that someday you will be able to truly help people with your online business?

Some of you are probably thinking that you can’t be an A-lister. You’re thinking that you can’t be one of the best in the world. You’re wrong. Sometimes my fear tells me that I can’t do it. My fear is wrong, it isn’t the real me talking!

I know that you struggle with feelings of inadequacy. I do too! I bet that you get overwhelmed from time to time. I bet that learning a new business seems hard. I bet that you are afraid. Perhaps the tough, outer-shell of you isn’t, but I’m talking about the real you. I’m talking about the person inside, the emotional you.

Do you realize that people who reach massive levels of success struggle with those same feelings - that they were at one time exactly like you? They were afraid of the unknown and terrified of failure. They were self-destructive at times. They made poor decisions.

Isn’t that why you have fear, because you’ve messed up a million times? Let me tell you a little secret: so have they, and so have I.

Eleanor Roosevelt:
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

Let me ask you some simple questions about the future. I don’t want to hear responses from the emotional, fearful you. I want to hear from the confident, passionate, positive, driven, strong person in there.

  • Where will your site be in 1 year?
  • Where will it be in 2?
  • How many people will you help between now and then?
  • How many will you inspire?
  • When you see yourself in 2 years, how have you improved? Are you a better person? Are you a stronger person?
  • Here’s a more selfish question: Do you see yourself 2 years from now as a more successful person? How successful?

A more successful person is living inside you and can be brought out. You can discover the stronger you if you can change the way you think. Do you think as your fearful self? When you sit down to write do you think as the confident person that you can be or do you let your fear cripple you? I’m willing to bet that fear gets the best of you from time to time. I bet that some of you are afraid to publish your work. I bet that many are too afraid to write at all.

Each day you will face challenges. You will run into situations that invoke fear and self-doubt. Let me ask you a few questions that you should be asking yourself:

  • How would a more confident person think as they sat down to write?
  • How would a stronger person act when facing a tough situation?
  • How would a more courageous person act?

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

If you can learn to to answer these questions as a stronger, more courageous, and more confident person you are well on your way to becoming one. Once you start to think as a more successful person, you will feel the desire to act. Remember that you will also feel fear.

Don’t Let Your Fear Overcome Your Call To Action
When you feel that desire to act, please act! Act like the successful person that you now are. Your fearful self will tell you that you’re not ready. Act anyway and you will soon catch a glimpse into the future of you and your site.

The Future Of You And Your Site
Starting right now you will begin to write each day. You don’t have to publish each day, but write each day. In the beginning your fear may be strong. You may have feelings of inadequacy. You may have trouble organizing your thoughts. You will act anyway. You will write.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

As time goes on, you will improve. We all must improve! You will give more value to your readers. This is what will get you to the A-List. This is what will make you become the real you, the powerful you.

Awesome post! Visualizing the future is so important. I’m starting to do this a bit, but you’ve expanded my scope! Thx! I dugg this one. Love the Eleanor Roosevelt quote. She was an awesome person. I notice the fear when I wake up in the middle of the nite. Just gotta take charge, face it, and mow it down with action! :-)

Eleanor Roosevelt was such an inspiring lady! For a large part of my life I didn’t realize that fear was natural and could be overcome with the right mindset.

* Where will your site be in 1 year?
***** My site will have 14 completely developed cities and uniques in the range of 30,000 per month.

* Where will it be in 2?
***** My site will have 42 completely developed cities and uniques in the range of over 100,000.
* How many people will you help between now and then?
***** I will help thousands because I am going to give back to the communities I develop in.
* How many will you inspire?
***** Less than 20 people.
* When you see yourself in 2 years, how have you improved? Are you a better person? Are you a stronger person?
***** I am a person that will be helping the community. I will be a better person from educating myself, and giving more.
* Here’s a more selfish question: Do you see yourself 2 years from now as a more successful person? How successful?
***** Will be successful as far as reaching goals I had set previously, but will have an entirely new set of goals that I haven’t reached yet. Globally successful.

These are outstanding goals, keep them in sight and you can get there! I like that you have recorded your goals as numbers, it will help you to visualize.

I’ve made the goals, but I think for now I’ll keep them private. :) You can get some insight into goals I’ve made here:

Court - Looks like a nice goals brainstorming post. I typically write my goals post at the end of the year. This should be great for inspiring those people who haven’t done so already!

Great post Court,

Setting goals is such an important aspect of success. I personally think it’s fun to set goals and when you eventually accomplish them, it’s such a great feeling!

I’ll share my goals in a post soon. One common goal that I have now is to take stock in my work in one year. I can’t wait for that time to come and hopefully I’ll be able to look back and be proud of what I’ve done.

We’ll see!
