You'd think that with the money that Google has in their pocket they would be able to figure out that www.lewisempire.com is the same as lewisempire.com! It just seems odd that they won't fix this problem.

The one I gave in the lesson redirects the proper way. :) It's never bad to have options though!

I tried some nonwww plugin or yes-www plugin. I found some problem, if I want non-www version, the following url will redirect to :

http://www.example.com/category/post1/ --> http://example.com/

The only one I found working good is Permalink Redirect: http://fucoder.com/code/permalink-redirect/

e.g. http://www.example.com/category/post1/ --> http://example.com/category/post1/

They also take care of "/" or without "/".

Another great post. I've never really thought about the issue of having a WWW domain name, was interesting to read the importance of the domain name though.

Considering what you blog about, you may want to learn about Postiecon. It's happening this fall in Las Vegas. Bloggers getting together to talk about money making strategies.

I agree with you that it is more of a preference. The plugin for wordpress is excellent to help eliminate the potential for duplicate content.

No concerns here. I always make sure that my sites - whether Wordpress or not - go to the non-www. The second I put up a site, I do an .htaccess redirect from www to the non.
