Partial PageRank Update Happening
August 9th, 2007 by CourtI can now report with certainty that there is at least a partial Google PageRank update going on right now.
How Do I Know There Is Some Kind Of PageRank Update Happening?
Yesterday I got a text from someone I mentor asking if I saw that he got a new PageRank. His site was started recently, and has always been a PR0. Naturally I thought he was on crack because I hadn’t seen any of the changes that usually happen when an update is going down. I went to his site, and sure enough his PageRank had changed - he now has PR2. I saw this with my own eyes, he was a PR0 last week and is now most definitely a PR2!

After I got done talking to him I started checking all of my sites and test sites. Sure enough, I found one of my own that also went from PR0 to PR2.
SoWhat’s The Deal, Court?
I don’t think this is a full PageRank update, unless it’s in its beginning stages. I ran about 20 sites through a checker that shows results from many different Google datacenters, and there isn’t any action at all. This could be a sign that the full update will happen very soon though.

I’m definately looking forward to this next pagerank update, since I created my site in the last part of May, after the last update.

Yes the pagerank update is on the way, my blog’s backlinks (when using link: command) were just updated and usually the pagerank update comes shortly after the links update. I am excited because this is the first update for my blog, I’m hoping to get on the board somewhere.

Mine too! I hope it isn’t like the time they did a link export and didn’t update PageRank. They only did that once that I can remember and it was seriously annoying.

Yea, hopefully its a full update. Its been three months so we are due for one, but with Google you never know.

When I checked my backlinks stats earlier, I found out that they were updated.
I had the feeling that Google has indeed started the ball rolling with their Page rank update.
I do hope I get some PR for my blog, since this is also my first update.

I encountered this partial PR update a few days back when I noticed my blog PR went from 2 to 3 on the PR toolbar. Now it is back to PR2.
It is gonna happen pretty soon!

To be honest, I was a little disappointed to see PR3. Considering the effort I’ve put in after the last update where I went from PR0 to PR2 without doing much.
Let’s hope it is only a partial update and not really finalize. But I don’t have a good feeling.

Maybe it’s easier to go from 0 to 2 than it is to go from 2 to 3.

If some PPR prediction tools are accurate my main blog will get a PR5 (smartwealthyrich.com) and my new blog will get.. .hum.. nothing
PR update is definitely underway, all those prediction tools are saying something different

SmartWealthyRich.com deserves at least a PR5 Jonathan. Hopefully your other blog will get something as well! If you’ve linked to it from your other site I bet it will get PR1-PR2 no matter what the prediction tool says.

Do you automaticly start with a zero PR? Some of my newer pages don’t even have a zero PR. So I checked most of my pages and they’re all zero PR. So either I didn’t gain any PR or my site hasn’t been hit yet.

You do automatically start with zero Desty! Most people haven’t seen any changes yet so don’t worry about that.
My guess is that it will take another week or so and then we’ll be able to see the changes. Could it be that my prediction of August 13 was correct?

I’m looking forward to an update. I looked at my bar and it looks like it went from grey to white (0/10) so I’m hoping that just means that they are getting ready to add a 1 in front of my 0 and give me the 10/10 I deserve! (Did I say deserve? I meant desire…)
I’ve only been at this for a month so hopefully I won’t need to wait until the NEXT update!

looks like my prediction of Aug the 3rd is going to be quite a way out! It cant be that far away now after Google have just done a back link update.

My new blog is too new to have any PR right now, but my other blogs and sites have consistently been on PR 5. Let’s hope I get a PR increase on one them this time around.

google updates can happen at any time and when they do it can take a few weeks to index the files
