Wordze Free Trial Offer!

January 8th, 2008 by Court

One of the most important aspects of keyword sniping is properly selecting the keywords that you want to target. I swear guys, the universe must have decided to make this easier for everyone because at just the right moment for all of you, Wordze has decided to run a free, 30 day trial.

People have been asking me lately why I prefer Wordze over Wordtracker and other keyword analysis products out there. There are a lot of reasons but the standout feature of Wordze is called WordRank, which gives you a look at how tough your competition is. Wordze gives you an analysis of the top sites for your keyword and will show you key stats like how how old the sites are, how many links they are collecting each month, and PR, etc.

Once you get signed in, I would highly recommend watching each of the tutorial videos that Wordze has. They will teach you how to use Wordze, and will also help you to see how powerful Wordze is.

Dang guys, you are dang lucky right now. Don’t be stupid - this offer expires in less than six days (Expires 1.13.2008).

Great offer Court… I actually bought a Wordze subscription after reading your keyword sniping article, should have waited for this. BTW have you noticed that the Wordze historical trend data is all over the place? It seems very inconsistent for many niche keywords (jumping from 0 searches to 500 and back over the course of 3 months). Just wondering if I should avoid keywords that fluctuate like that.

Yeah I would try to find keywords that are more stable if it’s possible!

I’m signing up for this. A question about Wordze that I’ll be able to answer myself in a bit, but I’d like your opinion on:

Does Wordze show a keyword’s estimated adsense revenue? How does one research the value of keywords? I would hate to go to the trouble of building a niche site around something that gets $.03 per click.

I actually don’t know of any keyword tools that are effective in showing that DVS.

The only way to really get an idea of how much they’ll pay is by setting up an Adwords account and bidding, however you can judge somewhat by taking a look at advertiser competition with the Google Adwords tool:

Actually, Court, that keyword tool you just linked to has a function where you can see the average cpc for any keyword. Divide that number in half and you’re probably looking at a rough estimate of publisher revenue per click. just click on the “show/hide columns” bar, and in the drop-down menu, click on “show average cpc”. pretty cool tool, actually.

Just to clarify a potentially stupid question, but when looking at Adsense revenue potential, we want high amounts of advertiser competition (per the Google Adwords tool) right? I am getting confused with the number of websites competition I think. You’d want high numbers of advertisers fighting for the low number of websites on which to display adds, which would benefit you the publisher.

Ok Jeff I had a look at that tool. I was very happy to find out that this function was there. I ran some numbers using the payouts that I usually get for clicks and I would say that you can expect about 25% of what that number says.

I think it’s probably less than 50% because the premium bidders only wants their ads to show on Google’s search network and not on the content network.

To clarify, Google probably pays about 50% but many of the premium advertisers don’t let their ads run on Adsense.

@Court & Jeff: Thanks for the link, and tips. I have been researching different keywords with it, and there are a lot that don’t display any data for the cpc (just a dash), but are showing high advertiser competition. That’s odd, isn’t it?

@Robert: That sounds right to me. Lots of advertisers with money to spend, and few places to spend it.

Nevermind, I figured it out. You have to enter the max you’re willing to pay per click, then it shows you how much each keyword is bidding for. That’s pretty cool. As a total newbie, I’m stoked to have learned that.

Actually I meant to also ask you, do you know of a site that will speed up looking for the CPC of keywords or do you use your Adwords account? I’m doing this now but I find it’s a little slower…

Stephane you can use the Adwords Keyword tool:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

You have to put in your keywords and let it search and then there will be a drop down where you can choose to see the estimated CPC. You have to put in a bid, so you could just put in like $100 and it will show you what other people are bidding.

Yeah, that’s what I was afraid of Court. It’s very time consuming. A while back me and a few others created a website to save some time on this: http://www.Symbiotic.com but I’ve since dropped from that project (I didn’t have the amount of time to commit). I don’t know how accurate the data still is, but that was one of my original efforts to reduce this time consuming task.

The only other sources I’ve found weren’t very reliable, they used Overture data, etc. Which was close but sometimes made the difference between success and failure…

I was hoping, dreaming, for a quick and easy solution :)

I found out about this about a month and a half late, but please please please let us know if Wordze decides to have another free trial… or even a cheap limited trial.
