How Can You Make More Money?
May 19th, 2008 by MarkYour earnings equation for making money online:
Page Impressions x Click Through Rate x Earnings Per Click = Total Earnings
Get more traffic so you have more Page Impressions.
Increase (ethically) your click through rate.
Increase your Earnings per Click.
And that’s about it. I was about 550 words into a post this morning, and then I realized all I needed to say was what you see above. I wanted to keep this simple in the spirit of what Court has taught lately about avoiding information overload. If you’d print those posts out, read them daily, and follow their instructions, a few months from now you will be making money.
Here at the Internet Marketing School we are passionate about seeing you reach the point where you can pursue making money online full time (if that’s what you want to do). Last Thursday I quit my day job to work online full time and I can tell you the feeling is even better than I thought it would be. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible experience the same.
Have a great day.

Congrats on quitting your 9-5, Mark — I’m confident you’ll continue to succeed in the MMO arena. And thanks for reiterating what’s fast becoming the mantra of the site: Get Backlinks!

Ditto on the congrats! As well as more traffic, I’m particularly fond of viral marketing techniques too - embedding one’s subscribe feed in the footer of complimentary ebooks, offering free eclasses that have affiliate links for additional tools, etc.
Just found your site today and have bookmarked it - you have superb material.
Best wishes,
Barbara

That is very inspirational to hear that you were able to quit your job to work online full time! I’m hoping to be able to do the same within the next year…but I have a long way to go!
What recommendations do you have for increasing a blog’s CTR and earnings per click? I’m not getting much search engine traffic yet, and I’ve heard this type of organic traffic offers some of the highest CTR. What else can be done?

I’ll add another Congrats on being able to quit your day job! I’ve been full time online for quite a while now and I agree it is a great feeling.
And very good post. I like the short and simple approach yet still giving out great information!

Like everyone above, I’m just going to say congrats once again! Wonder how it feels to be out of the rat race?
Anyway thank you for your interesting advice. Short and sweet. Seems simple, but sometimes the simplest things get overlooked. Any other tips on how to increase overall blog traffic ?

Mark:
I think it would be an interesting read if you did a post that chronicled your lead up to quitting your job. It would be cool to hear the consideration you had to make, the decisions involved, the goals you set, the work schedule you adhered to, the time frame, etc.
