I just started out and am using one of your SEO themes, but to be honest I think i might switch out to an unoptimized theme just so i am forced to learn how to do it myself.
regardless, thanks for all your hard work! keep it up

Great video! I’ll recommend it to my readers, especially those using FileZilla.
I’m using Fire FTP and have screenshots of that for my readers, but until I saw your video, I didn’t realize how different FileZilla is. Especially for beginners, this is a really useful video and covers important details.
Thanks!

Fantastic informative video. I have learnt so much from your blog. Thanks.

I was never aware that you could buy domains and hosting seperately and then pair them up. Hosting Gator rocks, and your blog rocks. I buy my domains through godaddy and host them at HostGator since godaddy registers them cheaper and HostGator is the best when it comes to hosting multiple domains. Awesome information.

I have downloaded a theme. How easy is it to change this after things get going? I haven’t really found one I loved, but hope to — so in the meantime I put one on there.
Your instructions are very good, they have been very helpful to me.
Also, you prefer 2 column? I like the looks of some 3-column, but does this seem like too much information at once to the reader? I will research this.
Thanks

Hey Court.
First, I just wanted to say thanks for helping me get started in this big ol’ world web marketing .
Second I wanted to let you and other users know that this video is a touch outdated.
Changes have been made to the directory structure for the gator host in Filezilla.
You must now upload your wordpress themes to www/wp-content/themes
Also changes have been made to how you access/change your themes in fantasico.
Instead of clicking “Design” You must goto the “Apperance” tab of the left side of your brower. Then you click themes.
Hope that helps!

Hi, Joshua
Could you explain to me how you uploaded your site to www/wp-content/themes from Courtney’s templates. Thanks a lot.
Steve.

Why would you work on the Install of wordpress and pay hosting fee? Instead of creating an account directly at wordpress.com? im curious how the dynamics behind that?

This is a great series for a total beginner like me! However, I got lost at the point where you were using something (called “filezilla” I think ) to upload your Wordpress theme. Where do I find something like that? I am using IE and Windows Vista, if that makes any difference &. I’d prefer not to install anything new if there is another program I can use which I have already.
Thanks!

@At the why you should get your own webhost over using wordpress.com questions- Your not blogging to have fun blogging, your blogging for money. You want to become a authoritative site about whatever your niche is and your going to want to have the freedom to run different forms of monetization and analytics . That wont be possible on a domain @wordpress.com or anything else for that matter. Not saying you wont have a high page rank but never the same freedoms as your own .com
@ How to use filezilla- I never even tried it. I used to use coreFTP lite until I began using wordpress. Now I dont even bother since EVERYTHING including plugins can be installed right from the WP dashboard. Hell, I dont even download them anymore I use the automated install process. You can check out my webpage for more info. Good luck!
