Would Anyone Like To Sell Their Site?

October 18th, 2008 by Court
Welcome to Court's Internet Marketing School...we have mountains of information to share with you about creating a low maintenance income on the internet, and the best place to start is with my free ebook: "The Keyword Crash Course."

In 30 short pages my ebook shows you exactly how to set up a low-maintenance income online using free traffic from Google. You'll learn:
  • How to discover keyword sets where the traffic potential is high but the competition is limited.
  • How to set up quick, easy, search-engine friendly websites with no programming knowledge whatsoever.
  • How to build those websites around high-paying keywords that will give you your first passive online income.

The ebook is free, but there is a catch - you have to actually download it, read it, and implement what it teaches. I'm not giving you this book for intellectual stimulation; I'm giving it to you so you can make money. Hundreds of my readers have used these principles to either create or increase their online income. You can do the same.

Just fill out the easy form below you'll be redirected to the download page. As a bonus I'll follow up with an email mini-course that outlines some of my biggest successes, failures, and key insights I've gained over the years as a full-time internet marketer. I'll send you the first installment right away. And don't worry - all you'll ever get from me is value-packed content. I'll never share, rent, or sell your personal information. Enjoy...and thanks for visiting!

In the last few weeks, I’ve been in the market to pick up a few sites. I actually have already picked up a few, and would love to pick up a few more.

If anyone would like to sell a site, please let me know. You can use the contact form on my contact page!

I’m basically looking for sites that are at least 6 months old that have at least a little income. I guess that means that I’m looking for sites that make between $10 and $1000 per month. :)

Why do I want to buy a few sites? So far when I have purchased sites I’ve had pretty luck getting more out of them than the previous owners. To be honest and up front, you can probably get more out of your sites than you’re getting. That said, you may need some cash now and if that’s the case, it will be a win-win.

The going market price for sites in this income range is 10x monthly earnings. I’ll be making offers in this range unless there’s a reason I can see that should change the multiple. Sites that are older than five years and sites that are PR5 or higher would be worth a higher multiple to me.

Let me know through the contact page and I’ll make you an offer!

~ Court

Lol, where were you when I sold bloggin-ads.com ?!?! :P It turned PR5 close to the end of the sale and I may have lost a bit of $ :( . It’s now PR4 since the new owner just doesn’t post much.

I am thinking about selling my site for the right price. I make about $850 a month with adify and another $200 with Google ads. PR 5 and 300,000+ PV per month (going on 500k this month) 2300 RSS readers. The site is a social media darling, 8 of the last 10 post made the digg front page, frequently featured on reddit front page and delicious popular list; almost every time I post. I could make a lot more than that for sure, but I need some good money quickly as I lost a heap of cash on stock. :(

It’s tech related, so I am not sure if people will be interested. There is a contact page on top of the site and sitemeter traffic info at the bottom of the page if anyone is interested let me know.

10x monthly earnings?

That’s a 0.83x multiple on yearly revenues… sounds like a really shite multiple to me… especially considering that most website operations have a decent profit margin.

Court.

Here is a question for you seeings how your in this market right now. To you, is there much of a difference between a dot net and a dot com site. See, I am noticing building sites that a lot of people own the dot com names but don’t do anything with them. Then they want thousands to see that domain. But, I have had decent success with dot net names and getting them indexed high in Google even though there a dot net name.

Would just like to know your thoguhhts on this?

Collin I prefer .coms, but the difference is very slight. I have owned .net domains and will probably own more before all is said and done. They seem to rank just as well as .coms. The only reason I prefer using .com is that people have a stronger association with them.

I think .net domains are great.. ;)

Collin - google (and other SE) most probably do not care about whether your site is .com, .net or .at. However the value of the site to a buyer is in many cases higher if it is a .com.

Hey Court, I was wondering… I have noticed when someone buys a website with high pr, or any pr for that matter, when you change the servers to the new owners the pr disappears on the next update. How do you avoid that from happening?

this is kind of off topic from the post but does anybody know if after you change the title of your site googl re-ranks you or that could drop PR?

Hi, Also a bit out of topic.. I have this wordpress account with PR4, what will happen if I redirect it to a brand new domain? Will all the equity be transfered??

Sorry, but it won’t. And for that reason it is always a good idea to start with your own domain so you don’t have to worry about losing your PR and SEO credits.

Good idea to buy up some sites. With the economic issues, I’m sure there are a good number of webmasters looking for the quick buck from selling off their sites. Its a good time to be buying up assets. =P

I have real sites that made real money selling good info-products… the problem is I stoped actively promoting them… but the traffic from forums/article directories are still working… lol
