Premium MMO Site For Sale
April 29th, 2009 by CourtA friend and regular contributor to my sites emailed today to let me know that he’s going to be selling his profitable, home based business, make money blog. The site currently makes over $2,000 per month and is being sold on Sitepoint. If you’re in the market for picking up a solid site, this is a good one. It ranks well for TONS of keywords. Here’s the auction and here’s the work at home site.
Update: This site was sold for a very nice amount. Congrats to the new owner AND to the seller. Now maybe he can afford to send his kids to a nice boarding school.

No offense but how is this a good deal? the domain name (http://www.work-at-home-jobs-iowa.com/) seems like another generic money-making website.

I had a quick look at the site, and I am interested but a lot of the keywords are fairly long term. I was wondering what was the main traffic pull for the site that helped it make money.

I think this blog flipping is a big part of making blogging into a business that people often forget. If the blog is not something you want to stay with, consider selling it to someone else and then moving on to create the next blog. The only thing to remember is that most people who would be interested in such a deal will want to see the earning potential of the blog. So a really cool niche or well executed blog without a track record will almost never be enough.

It sold for $48,000 which is what I had the BIN set at. And wouldn’t you know I got a private bid for $60,000 the next day from a very well known internet marketer, but I didn’t want to back out with the other guy so I lost out on $12,000.

I always think about it this way. If you sell your blog and it is a wordpress which is a free service you also have to give up that wordpress, and the domain, but if you make the money that you are after I guess it is ok and you can create another one just like the one you sold with different keyterms.
