Acquiring friendships and meeting new people online can seem like a scary thing. But behind every computer is a person and that is really where you need to focus. There are a lot of great business relationships and friendships that are developing daily via the internet. Don’t be afraid to make some great acquaintances and build solid friendships with other bloggers like yourself. But there are a few things that can help you along the way.

Interact With Readers

One of the easiest things you can do to get the ball rolling is reply back to all the commenters you get on your blog. This may be a lot of different people, but if they get a personal message back from you, they are most likely to make more comments.

They have already made the first initiative by leaving a comment on your blog so you can follow up by a short and simple reply. If they ask you a question, answer it. How would you feel if all the questions you asked others were left unanswered?

When you reply back to your readers, refer to them by name. This will make the situation much more personable. When you call someone by name, it can start a bond and seem like you really believe they are a real person. Always be honest and sincere because people can tell when you are not being real with them.

Continue Courtship

Once you have replied to someone, you can try and start new conversations with them. Think of it almost like a blind date. You have to keep the conversation going in order to get to know them and the same applies with your fellow bloggers.

If you just leave an impersonal and short response, the reader is not likely to come back and make new comments on your page. But if they know that they will be able to engage in meaningful conversations with you, they will more than likely come back to your blog.

The Golden Rule

If someone adds something meaningful and valuable to your page, you should do the same for them. They are contributing to make your page a little better so you should do the same courtesy for them. And people will most likely recognize your efforts and be willing to try and help you out in the future. These kinds of gestures and help build better relationships of trust amongst your fellow bloggers.

Once you start a conversation with someone, donĂt be afraid to reach out to them and try to make and keep that friendship. You never know when you will need to fall back on one of your new friends and vice versa. Try to make these friendships real and meaningful and they will always pay back in the end.

The more you get to know a person, the more you can help each other. Find out about their backgrounds and especially when it comes to business. Try to remember each person and what their expertise is so that if you need help, you know exactly where to find it.
