There is nothing better for a blogger then a lot of comments and interaction between the author and his readers. These blogs vary quite a bit in topic, content, and design, with just about anything you want to know being guaranteed to be on one of them. They are fairly simple to design and produce and provide an easy way for web page owners to earn an additional income.

Earning money from a blog comes when you have a fairly large flow of Internet traffic that visits your specific web page and interact on that page finding a strong brand worth following. As the number of people who visit your website increases, so does the amount of money that you can make. A blog is a very unique kind of web page because it allows people to comment, respond to, and criticize the content that is published on it which gives it a huge advantage over other sites whether the comments are complementary or criticizing.

One of the best indicators that a large number of people are visiting your web page is through the amount of comments that they post to the blog. Having many comments posted to the blog results in a very successful website, so the question then is how you can get more comments on your blog posts. This can be accomplished in a number of different ways.

Publish Debatable Articles

In order to spark the interest of Internet visitors you have to write and publish content that ignites the feelings and opinions of ordinary people. Topics that are fairly recent or highly debatable will increase peopleís desires to post a comment or criticism on your blog which will therefore increase the amount of people that visit your site. Write articles that will make people want to give feedback and participate in the online discussion that is hosted by your blog.

Offer Prizes Or Rewards

Turning blog posts into a form of competition will also increase peopleís desires to leave comments on your web site. One of the things that you can advertise on your website which will make it very attractive is a prize for the top commenters to the articles that you publish. This method will provide people with another incentive for posting comments to your blog posts.

Install Cliffhangers And Provide Value

Another way to increase the curiosity of people who visit your web page is to write articles that do not necessarily cover every single detail. When writing these debatable articles, remember to leave room for discussion and almost leave each one in the form of a cliffhanger. Providing room for visitor comments is a great way to get more comments on your blog posts.

No one will comment unless you write solid content. Court’s site is a perfect example of this. Keep people looking for more and wanting to come back. You need to provide them with a literary experience that they can associate with happiness and knowledge. Unlock that key by passionately studying and contemplating your own knowledge and eventually you will inspire many others.

Provide Subscription Services

Some blog owners also provide the option of emailing visitors with other peopleís comments after they have posted their own. The ideal situation is when visitors respond to other visitorsí comments and offer additional suggestions and feedback to what they have said. People want to know about these comments and can do so through a posted email service that they are able to subscribe to on your blog.

Many people often wonder what type of a web page or blog they should create that will attract a large number of visitors to the site. There are many types of Internet sites that could be designed and published online, but only a few of them would actually obtain success and popularity in the world of Internet business to appeal to readers to keep them coming back.

Spin-Off Sites

Some web page owners have come up with the idea of creating spin-off sites that feed off of the popularity of other web pages such as a John Cow site or Courtney Turtle. Another term for these kinds of sites is a piggyback website. This type of a website gets its start by publishing content on the Internet that responds to, criticizes, questions, or debates the material of other, more popular web pages. Usually if people constantly visit a website that they do not necessarily agree with or have questions about, they will truly enjoy visiting another site that does address their needs or concerns so you need to find a unique angle that the original site doesn’t have or improve on the original idea.

Blog Spin-Offs

Blogs are some of the best web pages to create because they specifically publish material that Internet visitors are interested in reading about. They also allow Internet visitors to respond to the published content or the comments of other people who have visited the blog. These are probably the best to spin-off of because the original site has a cult following. It is almost like your site is a sequel.

What is great is that if you use your domain name correctly you can be able to build traffic through incorrect spellings of the original name or you can piggy back on search traffic to help build your own traffic. It can actually have a lot of potential, but be aware that you need to be original to some extent or you could face legal issues.

News Spin-off Sites

Piggyback sites can gain popularity very fast in the Internet community, especially if it addresses topics that are recent and are being highly debated at the current time on more news oriented sites that don’t have strong communities. Visitors to the Internet love to respond to the content of Internet web pages and spin-off sites are the best way for them to do so.

These spin-off sites will improve the amount of traffic that flows to your site, increase the amount of people who link to it, and ultimately build more income for your financial needs. Eventually you can be trusted as much as original sites for validity and branding. Once this spin-off site has been created, you can then begin to concentrate on how to best funnel your Internet traffic flow to other sites that you will design and publish in the future.

This premier piggyback website will be the starting point for all your other web pages and the ultimate source of your financial income. You can place links on this spin-off site that will lead Internet visitors to other interesting sites that will keep up their curiosity levels and ensure that they remain loyal clients for a long period of time.

Build A Relationship With The Original

Spin-off sites should be exciting and constantly publish new information on a frequent basis so that your siteís visitors do not become bored and tired of visiting it. You should consistently change and update the information on the site so that people keep wanting to come back and visit to learn about and respond to new things. People like to learn about new things and quickly change their minds about a lot of topics.

Try to become an interactive friend of the original site and be willing to link to them. Comment on their site if you can and email them to explain what you are doing. It can be a great way to build a business relationship and you can potentially scratch each other’s backs. Building Internet traffic can be accomplished through the creation of successful spin-off sites. They can be the starting point of a very profitable future in the Internet business world.

Catchy Headlines and Solid Conclusions

There are a few ways to generate more comments on your blog. If your blog requires a log in before commenting fewer people will be willing to comment. People tend to be lazy and rarely want to go through the hassle regardless of how good the blog is.

As important as focusing on catchy headlines is, it is more important to have a solid conclusion. When writing a blog pay as much attention to your conclusion as your headline, and be willing to wrap things up in a way that invites comments and questions.

Your conclusion should be centered and based on how you want the reader to respond. What you don’t want is for the reader to finish reading your blog, nod their head, and move on. You need the reader to finish the blog, contemplate what they have just read, and feel the need to respond or ask questions.

If you want lots of questions and comments you need to finish the blog with open ended questions and leave loose ends. If your blog ending is wrapped up too tightly you cut off the ability for people to respond with comments, questions, or concerns.

The same thing happens when you overload the blog with information and say everything there is to be said on a particular topic. This leaves no room for others to give their opinion. When you write open ended questions and you leave room for your readers to respond you allow them to be the expert as well as yourself.

Respond to comments

Another important aspect of your blog is your own commenting. You have to be willing to interact with comments posted. When you interact with someone’s comment you make them feel valued and important.

One way to respond to bloggers is by rewarding them for their comment. When you are appreciative or draw attention to a particularly good comment then bloggers and others are more likely to comment on future blog posts.

Grace and humility in your responses to comments make bloggers feel safe and secure, in return they and others are more likely to comment on future blogs because they feel comfortable. Bloggers are much more willing to open up about their weaknesses and learning experiences when you have opened up about your first. It gives a level of humanity that few show and Court is a perfect example of someone who isn’t arrogant about his internet marketing knowledge.

Controversy

If you’re really struggling for comments there is one sure way to get bloggers interested: controversy. People like to post their opinions and disagree on controversial topics. It is easy to get bloggers involved if there is a controversial discussion going on. You have to be willing to carefully monitor any controversy because you don’t want less vocal members to get scared away by the disagreement.

When you add controversy to your blog you have to set boundaries. When boundaries are properly set it creates direction for comments and therefore enables more people to comment. Overall well managed comment sections with interaction and open topics are attractive to readers and will inevitably create more comments on your future blogs.

Any type of business that is created in the world today must gain the approval of a large number of people in order to be truly successful. If you, as a business owner, do not acknowledge the importance and necessity of attracting as many customers as you can, then your company will quickly fall apart and ultimately fail. This particular truth works for both offline and online companies and will most certainly influence their profitability.

When dealing with online businesses, a web site must first be designed and published on the Internet for most people to see and use. The web site should be easily accessible and extremely user-friendly for people who have never even used the Internet before. An overall effective design for a web page will greatly impact the amount of success that it obtains in the future.

Building A Brand

A web site’s level of popularity will largely determine the amount of money that a company will be able to make. If a web site business earns the dedication of many customers, then other large companies will want to advertise their own products and services on this particular web site. The amount of visitors to a specific company’s web site holds a direct correlation to the business success and opportunities for growth and profitability.

The main goal of any online web site business then is to determine exactly how to increase the amount of visitor traffic to the web site. It becomes important that you use other blogs to help you build traffic by getting involved. Sites that have strong brands have a level of credibility. Once you have become friends with these leaders then you will be able to help gain awareness for your own site.

Get Links On Popular Sites And Blogs

One of the best ways to promote your own site is to get other major blogs or web sites to advertise what you are offering. Millions of people visit the biggest blogs on the Internet and so for you to publish a link on that popular site would be like hitting a gold mine if they have the same traffic that you are looking for. This can be done in a number of different ways with some methods being more effective than others are.

You can first use email sale pitches, which you should carefully create and revise by building a relationship with these large blog owners. You can include offers even for free with there offers on emails such as ebooks or products. Just as with any sale, you need to email large blog owners with a solicitation of the great things that your site has to offer for Internet users. You should also explain how placing your link on their enormous and very popular blog would benefit them and help them achieve their own goals.

Setup Link On Your Own Site And Look To Guest Blog

Another way to increase your own blog’s popularity is through helping other big sites to build up their visitor traffic. Place links to these popular blogs on your site and help them to build and grow. This method will start great working relationships with other blog owners and they will benefit you in return.

You should also take up a lot of opportunities to blog on other sites. The more you are seen on the blogosphere then the more people will recognize your site. Sometimes being an expert is based on who you know and not what you know.

You need to make sure they know you exist. Get involved and become a genuine contributor to their site. If I was you I would go straight to the top and pick from one of the top three sites. This will not only allow for your to gain a lot of traffic, but at the same time you are going to learn a lot of the tricks of the trade that you never would be able to find any other way.

In many situations with many different blogs, Google’s Adsense is the perfect option for advertising made easy. But there are many stipulations that you might not want to deal with. If that is not your case, there is nothing wrong with that.

But if you feel that Adsense is the best and easiest option for you, then donít let anything hold you back. But remember there are a few things to keep in mind before starting to set it all up. Adsense is not bad or evil; it just depends on what works best for you and your blog.

Just A Piece Of The Pie

Adsense will share the revenue with you, which they should very well do. Considering that they are doing all the hard work by finding all the advertisers for you, they should have a piece of the cake. But it is pretty much a mystery how much of that revenue they are really keeping for themselves. If you do not feel comfortable with this, then you can very easily cut out the middleman and go straight to the advertisers themselves to set it all up.

Google Decides The Ads

Another thing to keep in mind with Adsense is that you have no control over what type of ads are being shown on your page. Google tries their hardest to associate their ads with the content on your page but sometimes they canít really do that. This is generally not a huge problem but just keep in mind that their ads may not have complete relevance to your content which could be a little confusing for your readers.

This is especially hard if your blog is either religious or political. When you discuss politics, you may be discussing two very different points of view and it may be somewhat difficult for Google to determine what type of ads to post on the page. The same could be said about religious topics. They can be somewhat confusing and opinionated and it is not quite as easy for Google to find the right kind of ad.

Another thing to consider is that if you choose to use Adsense, a lot of other advertisers will not want to advertise on your page. Many prefer to have their own space and so they will refuse to advertise on a page with Adsense. They feel like it will lessen the image of the overall blog look and that’s not their purpose. You may have to decide who will make you the most money, Adsense or the other guys and go with the best choice.

Low Pay Out

One more thing to consider is the payout on their ads. For some ads, the payout could be $.07 per click but for others it may be up to $1. It can sometimes be hard to predict what type of profit you are going to make off their ads. And it won’t be the same every month or even every day for that matter. If you are not too concerned about the cash flow, then this obviously isn’t a concern for you. But, if you are, then finding your own advertisers may be your best bet.
