Blogging, which was once a hobby, has now become a great way to earn money and a great opportunity for a side business. There are still many people who enjoy blogging as a hobby but are still making money from their hobby. So where do you draw the line? What sort of motivation is money when it comes to blogging?
Blogging Purpose
If you are just starting out a blog for the first time or have been blogging for a long time, the first thing you need to decide is what your motivation is. If your sole purpose for blogging is to make money, you should probably look for a different side business. Money is always a great benefit, but if you are trying to reach that millionaire status as soon as possible, blogging may not be the best career path for you.
Whenever you blog, don’t make it about the money but focus on your readers. When you are trying to meet their needs above your own, you will reap even more benefits. Donít know exactly how to meet their needs? Ask them for suggestions on topics for blog posts. Your readers will always let you know what they are looking for.
A lot of times if you just take a moment to read the comments they leave you will be able to figure out what they want to read too. When you focus on your readers, they will also be more likely to recommend you to others.
Make Your Blog Official
If you are making money off your blog, you can treat it like a business. Learn all the ropes about advertising and publicity. There are many valuable lessons that you can learn from your blog by treating it like a business if you are ready and looking for them. If your first blog isnít quite as successful as you would like, try and make positive changes and work out all the bugs.
Pay It Back
If you are making money from your blog, don’t forget to pay yourself. You are the one doing the main part and you shouldnít give it all up or just do it for free. If you feel guilty about earning money from your hobby don’t. There are many people out there who can use your good advice and expertise and blogging is just one simple way to get your voice out there.
If you feel like you have what it takes to be a good blogger but don’t want to do the behind the scenes work of setting up the page and keeping it going, getting advertisers and all the other work that comes with it, a partnership might be the right idea for you.
Look At Jobs For Side Income
If you can’t find someone else who is interested in doing it with you, many people are looking for bloggers to write for their page. Some pay little and some pay more. You just need to find the right opportunity for you and run with it.
Most of all, just remember to find the mean that works best for you. But keep in mind that people who generally focus on the money, don’t have as much success as those who are enjoying what they are doing. Try not to have high expectations and you will appreciate all the money that you do make.
