In many situations with many different blogs, Google’s Adsense is the perfect option for advertising made easy. But there are many stipulations that you might not want to deal with. If that is not your case, there is nothing wrong with that.
But if you feel that Adsense is the best and easiest option for you, then donít let anything hold you back. But remember there are a few things to keep in mind before starting to set it all up. Adsense is not bad or evil; it just depends on what works best for you and your blog.
Just A Piece Of The Pie
Adsense will share the revenue with you, which they should very well do. Considering that they are doing all the hard work by finding all the advertisers for you, they should have a piece of the cake. But it is pretty much a mystery how much of that revenue they are really keeping for themselves. If you do not feel comfortable with this, then you can very easily cut out the middleman and go straight to the advertisers themselves to set it all up.
Google Decides The Ads
Another thing to keep in mind with Adsense is that you have no control over what type of ads are being shown on your page. Google tries their hardest to associate their ads with the content on your page but sometimes they canít really do that. This is generally not a huge problem but just keep in mind that their ads may not have complete relevance to your content which could be a little confusing for your readers.
This is especially hard if your blog is either religious or political. When you discuss politics, you may be discussing two very different points of view and it may be somewhat difficult for Google to determine what type of ads to post on the page. The same could be said about religious topics. They can be somewhat confusing and opinionated and it is not quite as easy for Google to find the right kind of ad.
Another thing to consider is that if you choose to use Adsense, a lot of other advertisers will not want to advertise on your page. Many prefer to have their own space and so they will refuse to advertise on a page with Adsense. They feel like it will lessen the image of the overall blog look and that’s not their purpose. You may have to decide who will make you the most money, Adsense or the other guys and go with the best choice.
Low Pay Out
One more thing to consider is the payout on their ads. For some ads, the payout could be $.07 per click but for others it may be up to $1. It can sometimes be hard to predict what type of profit you are going to make off their ads. And it won’t be the same every month or even every day for that matter. If you are not too concerned about the cash flow, then this obviously isn’t a concern for you. But, if you are, then finding your own advertisers may be your best bet.
